A procedure where the gallbladder is removed using a laparoscope is known as laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The gallbladder collects and stores bile, a fluid produced in the liver that helps in digestion. In this procedure, the surgeon makes small incisions, a laparoscope is inserted through one of them. Initially, you might face a problem digesting certain foods such as high-fiber and high-fat foods. As a result of such intake, you may experience -bloating, gas, abdominal pain after eating. When Can I return to normal activities?

You can return to normal physical activities when you feel comfortable. Feeling tired after surgery is normal, so take some rest. After a week or so, you are able to resume most of the daily activities.

Open cholecystectomy is the process of removing the gallbladder through a single large incision. It might be required instead of laparoscopic cholecystectomy if:

• Bleeding disorder
